Introducing the lovely and talented Lauren—my sidekick for the semester! She definitely makes me happy because—#1—she's super cool and has a great personailty, and—#2—she makes my job so much more manageable as she helps me with the teaching, planning, and GRADING. :) :) (The help with grading definitely deserves the double happy face.) :)
Lauren is in her final semester at Arizona State University. She just got married this summer to a great guy named Baldo, and so I suppose we also can share in our experiences as newly-weds. She also happens to be Mormon and served a mission to Temple Square in Salt Lake City a couple of years ago, so we share in the same faith as well.
Lauren was born and raised in the area. In fact, both of her parents are McClintock HIgh School grads. She graduated from Corona del Sol High School which is another school in the district.
Lauren also happens to be very musically inclined. She loved doing drum corp and marching band in high school, and in fact, was a drum major for two years. Currently, she plays in a community band. She also plays piano quite well.
We actually came together as mentor and student teacher because of a class we were in together at ASU last spring. It was great for me to have a good idea about who I would be working with. I suppose it was meant to be!
I appreciate her for all she does for our students—for her care, her concern, her determination to do her best. Thanks, Lauren, for making my days brighter, better, and for all that you do! :)
