I must say that cool air makes me happy. After the seemingly endless Arizona summer—which by the way, still lingers—you have no idea how wonderful cool air of the not man-made variety is. We are still around 100 degrees for highs here on a regular basis, so last night and this morning was a treat.
Enoch and I drove about an hour and a half away to Pine, AZ, to go with our ward on a camp out. Mind you, we didn't really do any camping out, but we sure had a good time with our friends, and I certainly felt like I got to know a few more people quite a bit better.
Our church owns a complex up there that they call Camp Lo-Mia. (Don't ask me what it stands for.) They do girls' camp up there and other ward and stake functions for stakes and wards all over the Phoenix Valley. It's in the mountains, and I would say a good 20-25 degrees cooler than here.
I said we didn't camp out because my friend Cindy had invited us to stay with her at her "cabin" up there. Her family has had this place for about 25 years, and it was lovely. It's not really much of a cabin, but more of a home. It even has a jacuzzi outside. Enoch and I were glad to get a good night's rest.
I'm happy to appreciate things that I come to miss when they don't happen for several months. What a great overnight get-away!

That's funny. I went to camp Lo-Mia for girls camp my very first camp. AH, I have some fond memories! Our theme that year was country/cowboy or something. We decorated our cabin with cowboy boots and stuff (I think we won!) and then did a skit to "Anything you can do, I can do better!" Good times, good times.
I'm glad you were able to get a break from the heat! That two weeks I was down there was long enough for me, and one week of it wasn't even that hot! You know, it's been really nice and chilly here in Great Falls... And starting the end of October, Allegiant Air flies from Phoenix to Great Falls, direct flight, for less than $100 one way :)
