One of my peers here decided to host a party last night at his house off-campus. It was fun to get away and mingle with people who come from all over the country. yes, there was alcohol involved, but I took my bottle of sparkling lemonade and enjoyed myself all the same.
There was a bit of action that happened though. At about 10:00 PM, a strange man came inside the gate where most of us were mingling. He said he needed to use a phone. He had been stabbed in the face and needed to call 911. People at the party remained relatively unphased, and someone offered to call 911. There happened to be police close by in the area, so they showed up very quickly and took the man outside the gate for quite some time, made him lay down on the ground and everything. We don't know what ultimately happened to him, but he was bloody.
The stranger thing was that the police threatened to break up the party and arrest people since it was getting later. If they got a call, they would come back and make arrests. It was not a wild party at all. People were just chatting and having a good time outside in the fenced in yard. There was no music, shouting or anything. Weird.

That's so lame... Why arrest? I guess police in santa fe don't have anything to do...
just thought I would spice it up a bit with the crazies. Santa Fe definitely has more than its fair share of eclectic people
