Pecos Wilderness Hike

Last Saturday morning, I traveled with Alfredo, Heather, Val, and Jen into the Pecos Wilderness for a morning of hiking. We figured we covered 7-8 miles in about 4.5 hours. We also went from about 8,000 feet to over 10,000 feet. So it wasn't Mount Wheeler, but it still was fun, challenging and gorgeous. New Mexico is certainly a land of diverse landscapes--the high desert of Santa and the lush green of Pecos--within an hour's drive of each other!

We started at the Holy Ghost Campground. I wish I knew some cool story for that name, but I don't, so feel free to make up your own idea. ;)

Here are some pretties from the day...

Ah, this is a place I really wanted to get to... someday, maybe ;)

Happy graduation tomorrow!
