At the Zoo

WE spent a portion of Memorial Day at the Phoenix Zoo. We took advantage of some of the last temperatures under 100 degrees while we could. We are headed into the long months of summer where I prefer to just hide out in the house and venture out only when I have to. Hot is hot! One of Asher's favorite spots is the monkey house where you can go inside a caged in area where there are spider monkeys. You can get up close and personal just as we did with the little guy above. Asher loved being so close and seeing their every feature. And they did remind him of one of his new interests--Spiderman.
Julia hung out and played cute. We took a picnic lunch and ate at one of the ramadas. The string cheese still encased in plastic was a favorite for her. She is still teething as her second bottom tooth has finally come through, and she chews everything.

Asher got a kick out of the splash pad--Yakulla Caverns. He could have stayed there forever. There were caves, sprayers, shallow pools of water and lots of kids. He's loving the water this year, so I see a number of visits to the pool and splash pad this summer.

What a great day to be at the zoo.
