Two Mamas, Two Boys

This last weekend, my dear, dear friend Jill came to visit from North Dakota. She wanted to escape the seemingly endless winter, and it really had been way too long since we last got together in person. I'm thinking the last time was Memorial Day of 2007 when Enoch was relatively new in my life, and her oldest was not even one year old. Where has the time gone?

Jill brought her youngest, 7 month old Eli with her, and we and our two 7 month olds played, talked, ate, watched basketball, played with the boys, ate, and chatted some more. It was a wonderful visit!

On Saturday, we took Jill to the Botanical Garden. It was a lovely day to be outside, and the boys loved it. :) Of course, we had to stop at In 'n Out for some burgers as well. We capped off the day watching Kansas go down in the biggest upset of the tournament, and watched our brackets get upset at the same time too.

Sunday we had the great treat of meeting up with some Great Falls teaching friends, Jackie Mink and Chris Wortman-Engren, at a Paradise Bakery. Who would have thought we would be having lunch in Gilbert, AZ on a March day in 2010? They loved meeting our boys, and we loved the conversation and the cookies. Here's Chris with Asher.

Then Monday, we enjoyed our morning and did one more out to lunch excursion to Pei Wei. I rarely get to do lunch anymore, so it was fun to get out and enjoy some of my favorite spots with Jill.

Then she headed back to the north country where her husband and other two kids were missing her and needing her. I was so grateful to have her here, and to watch our two little boys interact, and to once again catch a few hours of basketball together.

Come again soon--but not in the summer. You came at a perfect time for the weather and for us to reconnect. I have such a wonderful friend!

Here are a couple of cuties who provided us with constant entertainment.

That's right, Amy. The old debate coach. She and her husband (Chuck Engren) have rented a place down outside of Tucson for a couple of months, and we have been in contact over Facebook. She LOVES babies!
