Hello, Neils!

I love it when good friends from faraway places come to town and we can find time to get together. I was so excited when my friend Kay from Great Falls emailed to say they would be in town and wanted to get together. Kay was monumental in helping me get moved down here 5 years ago, and she is such a lovely friend, so it is always great to see her, and it had been way too long.

She invited me and my sister Jill and our kids to the house that they have in Cave Creek for lunch and a swim. They hope to sell the house one day, but right now the market isn't good, so they are holding on to it and using it as a place to stay when they come down here for business and such. We were happy to use her pool, and she made a delicious BBQ chicken salad ala California Pizza Kitchen. It was delicious!

It was fun to learn about people back in GF and things they are up to. I was glad to hear that the book club I was in while there is still going strong. I gave her some ideas of things we had been reading, and she told me of some of theirs.

More than anything, it was nice to be away, and to do something different for the day. I like a change from the routine. Come again soon, Kay!
Thank you, Asher, for always wanting to pull on my hair when you are tired. And you are definitely ready for a nap by this point. But thank you for also not being so shy and having fun with all of the kids. :)

Kay with her adopted Wilkinson grandikids. She loves being a grandma!

Jill and Stephanie grew up together. Stephanie had her little guy Jack along on this trip, and he's a cutie.

Oh, I am jealous. ;) In the nicest way possible. I'd like to live a few blocks from you and meet up for these kinds of fun things.
