Tuesday was the day of actual moving, and it was quite stressful actually. The previous seller was a control freak on several levels, so there were all sorts of stipulations on when we could actually take possession and get keys to the house. So much of Tuesday morning we were waiting. Meanwhile, we were also trying to coordinate water getting turned on and having some carpet cleaners come in. Then we could actually move in the stuff because cleaning carpets is so much easier when nothing is on them, right?
By 2:30 that afternoon, we were finally able to get keys and bring the U Haul on over. Then I was off to a quick doctor appointment before coming back to begin the unpacking in earnest. We were up til past 11 that night getting things situated so that we could sleep. We were grateful for a number of people who helped us both pack and unpack in order to make the day move faster and easier. We were both exhausted by the end of it.
But here are a few photos to highlight our progress:
This one I took just to show all of the boxes in the background for effect. We had a mountain for sure. last night Enoch and I had a little party to break them all down, so no worries, the family room is clear of them, and the house is a little more presentable!
The kitchen is probably the most put together room in the house at this point. I love having the increased cabinet space and a pantry. The place doesn't really have any more counter space than our last, but it will suit us just fine.

We are grateful that the house was quite clean when we moved in and grateful that things are in such good shape that we really don't have to worry about too much in the way of improvements for now. Our biggest needs at this point are to get the space ready for baby Asher who will be arriving in what seems like not very long. I would show a picture of his room, but it's pretty sparse and sad at this point. But we'll pull it together, and I'll show a picture later.

Emily, congrats on your new place. I'm jealous of the "Wicked" girls night out. See you this weekend at the baby shower. Ann L. reporting from the in-laws.
Hooray! Homeowners! Yes, you'll fill it and wonder some day how it ever seemed empty
You're IN! Yay!
The kitchen sounds great - I would love a pantry and I'm jealous of your counter space. Can't wait to see pics of the nursery :)
