Wednesday Reflections 5.12.2010

Our budding little virtuoso. This xylophone was a great yard sale buy. At first I would play it, and you would stare. Then you managed to pick up the mallet and eat it. Then you managed to strike every which where on it but the bars where it could make noise. Now you love to hit the bars square on and hear all of its sounds.

Sometimes I play it, and we sing songs like When the Saints Go Marching In or Do-Re-Mi. Other times we just love to hear a variety of tones.

You love sounds and rhythms. You are striking everything these days to hear what kinds of sounds they make. You strike with your hands, your spoon, two toys together--whatever you can do to make noise.

You turned 9 months yesterday, and to celebrate, we took you to the doctor. ;) You were nervous there and much clingier than usual. You knew something was up. You weighed in at 17 lbs. 7 oz. and 28 1/4 inches. You remain a taller and skinnier variety of person, but you were up nearly three pounds, so I and your doctor were happy. Slow and steady. :)
