A Tale of Two Days

Enoch and I have hiked a number of miles over the course of the last two days. That was one of the main reasons we chose to come to Sedona--we knew the red rocks and the hiking trails would be calling our names. Early on, one of the things Enoch said that he loved about me was the fact that I really enjoyed hiking and would hike with him. Hiking was even among our first dates--which was quite the risk when you consider that a girl never looks her best after she is all sweaty and red-faced like I get after a good hike. Apparently, that didn't phase him. ;)

Anyway, yesterday we hiked in sun (although it still was a bit brisk in the air) with little snow except at the end. Enoch was hoping for more. Here's a view from the Loy Canyon trail to give you some idea of colors and formations.

Today was a different story. The trail was snowy, but beautiful. We were hiking around the west fork of Oak Creek, and actually crossed the creek several times, which was a bit of a trick when dealing with ice, snow, parts frozen over, and parts not. We've decided we will definitely come back to this trail at a different time of year. Here's me enjoying the cold but without the snow—yet!

Tee hee... is there a double entre in "Red Rock Lovers"? If not, I giggled to myself a little anyway.

Sounds like a fantastic day of hiking... jealous, let me assure you. It is gorgeous! ;) Keep having adventures... Are you eating yummy things too? I can't remember if Sedona is famous for that too... ;) j

J,

I was hoping you were reading! You would love it here in Sedona... If ever you get out this way, we will bring you and the whole clan. There are so many trails, so many vistas, and yes, the eating is a little quirky too!

More posting to come...
